Treat Hot Cocoa Lip Balm is just the thing for chocolate or dessert lovers! Soothe your dry, cracked, chapped winter lips with this amazing cocoa lip balm. And this isn’t one of those dinky little tubes either. It’s jumbo sized, but still fits nicely into your pocket or purse for one-the-go lip care.
I’m not a huge fan of chocolate itself. And I know that many of you are shocked by this. However I do enjoy the idea of chocolate tremendously. In fact, I sort of have an unintentional “chocolate collection”. It just grew into a collection on its own, without much effort on my part. It’s actually a rather impressive gathering of chocolate related items from purses to contact lens cases to erasers. I should probably write a blog about them with plenty of pictures!
Anyway, back to the Cocoa Lip Balm and it’s deliciousness. So, basically in a nutshell, it’s delicious. Although the large title on the tube boldly states Hot Cocoa, it’s the subtitles that really kicks this puppy up a notch. Directly beneath the title it says “marshmallow and chocolate”. Now it’s getting interesting! Then beneath that it reads “with a hint of cayenne pepper”. Interested! I’ve heard of spicy chocolate in candy bar form, but never in a lip balm.
The Grand Opening
I cracked the safety seal and took in a whiff of warm, smooth, creamy hot cocoa; complete with marshmallows. Then came the spiciness. A wonderful offset to the sweet richness of the choco-mallow aroma. It kinda floats around the sweetness like an exotic spicy ghost.
The consistency is smooth and easy to apply and doesn’t drag across your lips like balms. However, the melting point isn’t so low that it’s runny or drippy. I’ve had some that actually dripped down my chin because it had such a low melting point and low viscosity. This one is just right, not too hard and not too soft.
As far as the flavor goes, I can’t say that it tastes like a sip of hot cocoa. I definitely taste the chocolate and sweet cream, but not exactly marshmallow though. There’s also a whisper of Cayenne Pepper that comes to you as an afterthought, which really adds a bit of mystery.
After about 10 seconds, I felt a slight tingling on my lips. It wasn’t anything painful or uncomfortable in the slightest. In fact, it sort of felt like a mini lip massage and I noticed that my lips had a light flush. They felt a little fuller, plumper and softer. I’m sure this is a result of the Cayenne increasing blood circulation to my lips.
So in conclusion, this is a great lip balm for those who love chocolate, want a clean product, suffer from dry lips, and/or desire plumper looking lips.

I’m a fan of Treat lip products and currently own three lip balms, two lip scrubs, and a Marshmallow Moisture Stick. I have the Sherbet Lip Scrub, Marshmallow Lip Scrub, Confetti Cake Lip Balm, Marshmallow Cream Lip Balm, and Hot Cocoa Lip Balm. I’m still missing about 7 other flavors of lip balm and I haven’t tried any of their skin creams because they contain ingredients on my “No” list. However, these products are probably suitable for the vast majority of people so check them out.
